In January 2015, the company's director, Vladimir Karmirkodiyan, decided to hold an online contest for the best work created using the company's own materials. The grand prize was the "Golden Trowel," crafted from real gold (20 grams, 5×2 cm), featuring an official hallmark, custom engraving, and an elegant wooden handle.
Naturally, we intended to award such a prize to truly "golden" hands—genuinely talented artisans—and we were eager to present it to the very best.
A few words about the contest, its goals and objectives:
"After many years of craftsmen working with our materials, it became fascinating to observe how differently each person applies them in their work, discovers unconventional color combinations, and develops their own signature application techniques. Thus, we came up with the idea of organizing a contest among decorator-artists throughout Russia who use our materials, wish to showcase their skills, and compete for the title of the best. The main goal of the contest was to promote decorative materials as one of the essential components of interior design, without which coziness and the atmosphere necessary for a comfortable life cannot be achieved. We did not limit participants to creating samples exclusively on boards; instead, we gave them the opportunity to demonstrate that our materials can be used to decorate individual interior elements and to take a fresh look at the use of decorative materials. Therefore, among the submitted entries, there were columns imitating wood and marble, as well as completed interior spaces."
Voting took place in two stages on an online platform, the "Design Without a Tie" forum, where the main jury consisted of registered participants—architects, decorators, and designers.
Twenty-six entries participated in the contest, all interesting and complex, but only the six best works, which received the highest number of votes and achieved the top ratings, advanced to the second stage. From these six finalists, the most deserving candidate was selected and the winner was determined!
The contest concluded on February 13, and it was time to put faces to the contestants!
First and foremost, we would like to express our gratitude to all the master participants for their trust in the "Bris Paints" brand materials, for their willingness to participate, compete, and showcase their craftsmanship! We value everyone who works with us and strive to maintain not only professional but also friendly relationships. We are confident that contests of this kind will only strengthen future collaborations and inspire new ideas!
The winner was Entry No. 19, "Imitation of a Wooden Beam," by Kirill Kruchenyuk from Chișinău!
