Two-Component Matte Polyurethane Varnish
High-Performance Topcoat for Extreme Conditions | Kraski Breez
Purpose & Key Features
This two-component matte polyurethane varnish is a high-tech, professional-grade protective coating designed for interior and exterior finishing of polymer and mineral surfaces subjected to heavy use or harsh environments.
Composition:
- Component A: Polyurethane resin base
- Component B: Curing agent (hardener)
Upon mixing, the components react to form a monolithic, seamless film with exceptional adhesion, impact resistance, and chemical inertness.
Key Advantages:
- UV-stable – remains clear and does not yellow under prolonged sunlight exposure
- Weather-resistant – withstands temperature fluctuations, rain, and UV radiation
- Suitable for both interior and exterior applications
- Delivers a soft, non-reflective matte finish—elegant and glare-free
Performance Characteristics
- Highly abrasion-resistant – withstands heavy foot and mechanical traffic
- Waterproof – protects against moisture, condensation, and wet cleaning
- Odour-neutral – does not absorb or retain smells
- Chemical-resistant – impervious to oils, solvents, and common household chemicals
- UV-stable – maintains clarity and color fidelity in direct sunlight
- Impact- and weather-resistant – ideal for demanding indoor and outdoor use
Applications
Recommended as a final protective layer for:
- Microconcrete and microcement floors
- Epoxy and polyurethane self-leveling floors
- Concrete, wood, metal, and certain plastic substrates
- Industrial, commercial, and residential spaces:
• Retail stores, garages, lofts
• Bathrooms, terraces, façades
• High-traffic public areas
Surface Preparation
Fresh coatings (applied within 48 hours):
- No additional prep required if compatible and clean
Aged surfaces (>72 hours):
- Thoroughly remove dust, grease, oil, and contaminants
- Lightly abrade with fine-grit sandpaper (P180–P220) to enhance adhesion
- Vacuum or brush off all dust
- Degrease with a suitable solvent
- Ensure surface is completely dry before application
Coverage & Application
- Consumption: 0.05–0.10 kg/m²
Depends on:- Surface porosity and texture
- Application method (roller, squeegee, or spray)
- Layers: Typically 1–2 coats
- Important: Mix only the amount needed—do not pre-mix components; prepare working solution immediately before use
Drying & Curing Time
(at +20°C and 65% RH)
- Light foot traffic: after 48 hours
- Full mechanical load: after 5 days
- Full chemical resistance: after 10 days
⚠️ Curing time increases at lower temperatures or higher humidity.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Gloves: Cotton (outer) + polyethylene (inner)
- Eye protection: Safety goggles
- Respiratory protection: Organic vapor-rated respirator (filter type A)
Maintenance
After full cure:
- Clean with damp cloth and neutral pH household cleaners
Do not use:
- Acidic or alkaline cleaners
- Solvents
- Abrasive pastes or powders
These may damage the film, cause hazing, or leave permanent stains.
Shelf Life 6 months from the date of manufacture when stored in original, sealed containers in a dry place at +5°C to +25°C.
